TAFTIE

Official name in English: The European network of Innovation agencies
Full name in original language: The European network of Innovation agencies
Abbreviation: TAFTIE
Country: France
Type of institution: International organisation

The European network of Innovation agencies (TAFTIE) is the European Association of leading national innovation agencies. Its members make a major contribution to strengthening Europe’s economic performance by supporting product, process and services in the field of innovation by implementing their countries’ national and often international Research, Development and Innovation Programmes.

TAFTIE members exchange knowledge, experiences and best practices on a continuously exchange using task forces focusing on topics of mutual interest. One example is The Smart Agency Network that developed a self-assessment tool and process for assessing the added value that the research and innovation funding agency provides for its clients.

TAFTIE, or rather the people working as program managers in different countries, have developed the self-assessment tool which reveals and illustrates how an assessed agency adds value through the execution and management of RTDI programs, a value that exceeds the benefits from just distributing public funds. Besides that, TAFTIE contributes by reviewing the state-of the art analysis, TIAS structure and methodology, improving the SAT tool and attending the workshops to be close to other partners.

TAFTIE has already three members in the SEE region: TIA in Slovenia, FFG in Austria and ENEA in Italy.

TAFTIE is interested in developing relationships with key regions and key institutions in the field of innovation. General interest of TAFTIE is improving regional structures for better innovation policies and programmes.
